Secondary Easter Chapel 2017

During our Easter Chapel, conducted by the Chaplain Mrs Monique Riviere-Pendle, with the participation of students, we reflected on some claims that Christianity and the Easter story make, and why the story of Jesus’ resurrection matters now: it gives hope for our life now, and gives us hope for our life beyond this world. The cross, a simple wooden cross on the stage, used as a symbol of Jesus’ sacrifice and death, was covered by the students with flowers and plants as symbols of new life and of beauty. The lyrics of the song, "You make beautiful things", which accompanied the covering of the cross with flowers, acted as a reminder that God can change what seems like nothing into something beautiful.
