After eight years of outstanding leadership, Mrs Margaret Buttigieg has indicated her intention to retire as Principal of Casey Grammar School from the end of 2017.
Mrs Buttigieg informed the staff this afternoon of her decision.
The Chairman of the School Board, Mrs Marie Ormandy, acknowledged the great contribution of Mrs Buttigieg and said: “Margaret joined Casey Grammar School when it was just a very small Primary School and has been part of the team that guided, grew and established it as the school of choice in this region.”
“She supported and aided our founding Principal, Mrs Evelyn Sayers, and then continued with her passion to grow and develop our school,” Mrs Ormandy said.
“Her wisdom, experience and dedication have been vital for this. She will leave at the end of this year with our deep gratitude and sincere wishes for good health and happiness in her retirement.”
Mrs Buttigieg said “It has been a privilege to have been the Principal at Casey Grammar School for the past eight years, and also to have watched the growth and development of many students whom I have taught here during the past twenty-four years. We have focused on developing a culture of high performance and growth to achieve the best for our students in their learning, their well-being and their development as young people of integrity who seek to pursue excellence in everything they do. I am confident that the next phase of the school’s growth will be exciting, and that the School will flourish.”
The Board has engaged a consultant to support it in undertaking the search for a new Principal who will commence in January 2018. It is anticipated that an announcement will be made of the new appointment by the middle of the year. In the meantime, the School will continue to benefit from Margaret’s leadership.
