Junior School - Performing Arts

Casey Grammar’s Junior School Performing Arts program provides students with wonderful learning and performing opportunities, which foster a lifelong passion for music and the arts.

The classroom music program combines both the Orff Schulwerk and Kodály approaches to music education. These philosophies use singing, movement, drama, and speech to develop an understanding of the elements of music. All students from Foundation to Year 6 participate in a 50 minute lesson in which they create, improvise, analyse and perform using a variety of methods from percussion ensembles and ukuleles, to iPads and Digital Audio Workstation (DAW) software.

Other performance opportunities provided in the Junior School include:

  • Year 3 / 4 Choir
  • Show Choir
  • Year 4 String Program
  • Biennial Production Year 3-6
  • Christmas Celebration Foundation – Year 2
