SIS Lawn Bowls Championships

On Friday 16th August, seven very enthusiastic boys competed in the SIS Lawn Bowls Championships held at the home of "Crackerjack", Carrum Bowling Club.

They competed against Balcombe Grammar, Berwick Grammar, St Peters, John Paul College and Flinders College.

After an introductory lesson the boys got stuck into the tournament, getting better and better every round, they played three qualifying rounds in total.
The intermediate team, Jamie Wise, Connor Hancock, Lachlan Elliott and Shaquel Zaveer won one of their matches, then competed in the singles competition, learning new skills and enjoying a great day of bowls.

The Junior team consisting of Mitch Tumino, Tom Rowe and Sam Stevens made it to the grand final which is a sensational effort.
The boys played against an older Balcombe Grammar team, for first place in very wet and windy conditions and lost the match 2-1 coming 2nd overall.

The boys have made it to the next round on September 6th and we wish them luck.
